16th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival

Athens, 9th May 2017

The African Embassies and Honorary Consulates accredited to the Hellenic Republic have the pleasure to invite you to the “16th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival” to be held from 20 - 21 May 2017 on the premises of the Libyan School (25th March & Marathonodromon Streets, P. Psychico).

The African countries participating in the Festival (Algeria, Angola, Democratic Republic Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Sudan and Tunisia), will give visitors a chance to acquaint themselves with the customs of each country by showcasing and promoting folklore costumes, music and dancing. Kiosks will be selling handicrafts, clothing, traditional dishes and beverages.

Part of the funds raised from the 16th African Food, Music and Handicraft Festival will be donated to the “ELPIDA” Association of Friends of Children with Cancer.

SUSPENSION OF ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES FOR E-PASSPORT AND VISA APPLICATION

This is to inform the General Public that the online payment for Nigerian passports and Visas henceforth do not attract further administrative charges during submission or collection until further notice.

However, Authentication of documents and Emergency Travel Documents (ETC) are not affected by this directive.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

7TH March, 2017

This is to inform the General Public that the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has ordered the closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from 8th March to 19th April, 2017.

Consequently, all flights and other airport activities will be relocated to the Kaduna International Airport during this period. The purpose for the closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is to effect general repairs on the airport tarmac (runway).

This is to inform the General Public that the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, December 12, 2016 as public holiday to mark the Muslim festival of Eid-El-Maulud (the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed). The Chancery will therefore be closed.

Normal official business will resume on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
